Artist Statement GUNTER JUNGHANS
Gunter Junghans born 1943, lives in Germany. After completing his apprenticeship as a decorative painter in 1957, Junghans was working as with his father, an artists and master student of Otto Dix on art commissions across Germany.
Over the last 35 years he participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. His successes lead to his role as the president of the art group “Die Burg” which he took on in 2000. His work evolves around the theme of “Human and Technology”, a topic which he translates into bold images on paper. Junghans considers his images to be pictograms, reflecting on the nature he wants but also providing the viewer with much leeway for their own interpretations.
