Four weeks program in a nonprofit art space that culminates in a exhibition at its warehouse.
Visual art with a focus on new media, photography, mixed media and installations.
La Ira de Dios (LID), an artist-run space based in the center of Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosts annually three monthly interdisciplinary artists in residence programs. Their focus is visual art with a special attention on new media, photography, mixed media and installations. The program is structured to create a space of creative exchange amongst a community of international and local artists.
This four week intensive residency selects a group of artists who will partake in a number of workshops as they immerse themselves in new or ongoing projects. The underlying objective is tying together the artists we seek to engage to explore the limits of contemporary format, research, process and material. The residency culminates in a group exhibition in LID’s warehouse where our permanent studios and new exhibition space are also located. For its inauguration we receive a large crowd that includes numerous artists, curators and collectors.
In the next program, the clinics and the exhibition will be supervised by curator Mariana Rodriguez Iglesias (http://marianrodriguezi.tumblr.com/). The photographer and University of Buenos Aires Professor of Audiovisual Design, Gabriel Valansi (www.gabrielvalansi.com) will impart workshops specifically designed for the participants. There will be additional seminars and artist talks lead by our project directors, Carolina Magnin (www.carolinamagnin.com/personal) and Pablo Caligaris.
