The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize was created in 2005 by the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation to encourage the very best creative representational painting and promote the skill of draftsmanship.
With prize money of £30,000 the Prize is one of the most prestigious awards to artists in the UK.
From 2005 the exhibition of selected paintings were shown at the magnificent home of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, the Painters’ Hall, in the City of London. In 2012 the exhibition moved to the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London. During a reception at the exhibition the winners are awarded their prizes and the first prize-winner is also awarded a specially designed and engraved gold medal.
The range and quality of artists entering and exhibiting in the exhibition have grown each year and its reputation amongst artists is outstanding.
The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize is open to living artists over the age of 18, who are resident in the British Isles. Artists initially submit up to 4 works through an online entry process. If selected for the Final Judging, artists will be invited to bring their work to the Mall Galleries. Entry is £15 per work (£8 per work for students).
